2/2/07 If custody holdings are a gauge of foreign appetite for US assets then this chart suggested an increasing demand. Demand for Federal agency securities (backed mostly by US residential real estate) continues to rise at a very rapid pace and does not seem to be deterred by falling home sales as measured by MBA home purchase applications.

Yeah, I wonder why that is. I would imagine that investors would be very nervous of the current US econ and would not increase the amount of US Treasuries.
